A proactive program to help you keep your tennis court in playable condition would include evaluation of your court’s current condition, application of routine and preventative maintenance measures, and deployment of appropriate court repairs. Our free Special Report provides details.
A: The Certified Tennis Court Builder Program was developed by the American Sports Builders Association (ASBA) to support industry professional standards and to improve the practice of tennis court construction. To earn my CTCB designation, I was required to pass a comprehensive exam on tennis court construction and maintenance and fulfill prescribed standards of excellence demonstrating high levels of expertise in tennis court construction. I benefit from the program through ASBA’s validation of my qualifications as an experienced, knowledgeable tennis court builder. My customers benefit by having a tool that identifies tennis court construction professionals who meet an industry achievement standard and helps them evaluate the expertise of competing tennis court construction service providers. Tennis court construction is a highly-specialized field. In the current economic environment, pavement project opportunities have decreased, and many pavement contractors have expanded their service offerings to include tennis court construction. Though they may be quality driveway contractors or road builders, their pavement installation skills don’t automatically transfer to quality tennis court construction standards. In contrast, contractors with CTCB designations have demonstrated high levels of tennis court construction expertise and are experienced in planning and directing tennis court installation, repair, and reconstruction.
A: The size of a standard tennis court is 60' x 120'. However, vegetation must be removed a minimum of 5' around the site … drainage issues must be addressed and drainage measures installed … and your contractor needs room to install the court. Thus, the actual working area for court installation must be larger – a minimum site size of 70' x 130' is recommended, with a minimum site size of 80' x 140' preferred. A: Yes. A multi-game court can be designed to successfully accommodate a standard tennis court, QuickStart tennis courts, and other outdoor games, including basketball, roller hockey, badminton, and shuffleboard. Multi-game courts are quite popular with homeowners, and are becoming more popular with schools, park and recreation sport facilities, and country and tennis clubs. My multi-court customers have been very pleased with the look, durability, playing characteristics, and versatility of their courts.
